On June 18th, Sarah styled both the gorgeous Stacy Kiebler and the amazing Emily VanCamp for the Clinique Dramatically Different Event! It was a rainy night so both ladies wanted looks that could withstand the humidity and let them wear their hair up. Check out their dramatically different looks!
For Stacy, Sarah combed all of her hair back to a low ponytail and then used the WRAP UP to make a chic bun at the nape of her neck. This look is casual but polished and great for a hot summer day! On Emily, Sarah used a much higher ponytail and then braided the pony tail before winding it into a bun for a more boho vibe that’s still sophisticated for a night out!
People Magazine loved Emily’s look so much, they called Sarah and Make Up Artist Jake Bailey for their How To on the look.
- Start by smoothing out all the hair with The SARAH POTEMPA Ceramic Styling Iron.
Then spray a flexible hairspray, like Aussie’s Sprunch, directly on the “On Set” Styling Brush, which is a Nylon/Boar Bristle mix, and brush the hair up into a high ponytail. Secure with an elastic.
TIP: To get a smooth high ponytail, look up when brushing!
Apply a smoothing cream to the ponytail and root (also a bit of Fatboy pomade (fatboyhair.com) can help with flyaways) to add shine. Braid all the way down and secure with a clear elastic.
Wrap the braid around the ponytail, securing it with a mix of hair pins and bobby pins to create the visible shape.
