Get the Look: 2 Easy Date Night Hair Styles

Let’s be honest, finding the perfect hair style for date night (or GNO!)—one that’s just the right balance between chic and casual—isn’t always easy. The ideal style should not only be cute, but also quick—something you can achieve between the office and your 7:00 dinner rez.

These two style ideas for a night on the town are just that. Simple and elegant, each only require one accessory to pull off, and you can master them both in five minutes. Here’s how!

1. Curl your hair with the Beachwaver S1, securing the clamp near the ends of your hair for polished, glam waves.

2. On one side of your head, take two one-inch sections, and twist them both away from your face, then cross the section farthest from your face over the front section. Add hair from the top of your head to one of the strands. Twist, and cross the sections. Continue until you reach the ends, then clip out of the way.

3. Repeat on the other side, then secure both rope braids together in the back with a clear elastic.

4. Finish by adding a Beachwaver® Velvet Barrette Bow!

1. Curl your hair with the Beachwaver S1, securing the clamp near the ends of your hair for polished, glam waves.

2. Section out two diagonal pieces of hair on each side.

3. Bring the pieces together into a ponytail, and secure with a clear elastic.

4. Grab your Half Up

5. Secure the Half Up near the ends of the pony.

6. Roll the Half Up forward, toward your crown.

7. Pinch the ends together, and roll downward.

8. Arrange hair around Half Up to conceal.

How-To: Perfect Your Banana Bun

The banana bun (a close relative of the über chic French twist) is the ultimate cool-girl style. It’s timeless, elegant and one of the most versatile looks—dress it up (it’s the perfect bridesmaid ‘do) or down (is it just us, or does it pair perfectly with a fuzzy fall sweater?)so we’re thrilled it’s back and trending for fall.

Below is our version of the classic banana bun. Tuck in the ends for a formal vibe, or leave them out for a more casual look! Here's how it's done.

1. Curl hair with the Beachwaver S1, then brush through the curls with an On Set Pro Brush for soft waves. Pro tip: for extra shine, spray your brush with a flexible hairspray before brushing.

2. Pull all hair to one side and twist the top third inward, then secure with large bobby pins.

3. Roll the next third of the hair inward, slightly below the first section. Secure with large bobby pins, and gently pancake the bun for volume.

4. Roll the last section upward, and pin. Tip: For a more casual, daytime look, leave out about an inch of hair at the bottom.

5. Spray with a flexible hairspray, then Beachwave the front pieces once more if desired.

6. Brb. Trying this right now and every day this season.

HALLOWEEN: FABULOUS FLAPPER

This flapper look is all that jazz and so easy to recreate! All you need is the Beachwaver Pro, Wrap Up and this pretty feather flapper headwrap from Icing.

Step 1: Create a deep side part.

Step 2: Divide hair into three sections: Left, Right and Back.

Step 3: Select "R" on the Beachwaver® Pro.

Step 4: Select a 1-inch piece of hair, clamp the hair all the way and the bottom and hold "GO" to start the rotation. Be sure to keep the hair in the same spot on the barrel, as you want to create a tight curl. We have a great tutorial here so that you can see exactly how a roller set is done using The Beachwaver Pro.

Step 5: Release hair and clip the curl with a metal duckbill clip. Repeat this and continue to curl 1-inch sections.

Step 6: Allow the curls to cool.

Step 7: Remove clips, and spray hair with a flexible hold hairspray

Step 8: Using the Wrap Up, create a faux bob. Tutorial here.

Step 9: Spray hair with a flexible hold hair spray like Aussie's Sprunch Spray to finish off the look!

Sarah styles: Miranda Cosgrove

I was so excited when I found out I'd be styling Miranda Cosgrove for Big Morning Buzz Live! I used the Beachwaver Pro on her to give her bouncy beachwaves. Miranda has been promoting her partnership with the NFL as the Tweens/Juniors Apparel brand ambassador. Her makeup was done by the amazing Kristin Hilton.

Xo,

Sarah

HALLOWEEN: Feisty Feline

We took the classic cat costume and put a spin on it by using the Beachwaver Pro, Wrap Up and fun faux leather cat ears!

Step 1: First, part your hair by sectioning it right down the center of your head with a Darby Clip and secure that section into a ponytail.

Step 2: Using the Wrap Up, create a bun at the top of your head.

Step 3: Gather up the rest of your hair into a pony tail right underneath the bun.

Step 4: Curl the ponytail with the Beachwaver Pro and allow the curls to cool.

Step 5: Lastly, twist your ponytail into one big curl.
